Warranted Full Imperial Half Pint / C. E. Lucas / & Brothers / Louth. No potters stamp. (Lincolnshire, United Kingdom). Beer. Cork Stoppered. Dump. Impressed. Honey Glaze. 1/2 Pint. 177 mm. 1850s
Good. (6.5). Minor glaze flake to upper right lip. Crazing throughout which is a tad discoloured in places. 25 x 14 mm reasonably deep chip to left rear base edge, couple of hairlines up from each end of this, one about 12 mm, the other about 24 mm. This has been mounted on a wooden board at some stage, under the base there is remains of the chunky strong glue and even a piece of the wood on it, but you can see the base under this and it looks fine. Couple of little impact nicks to the body. A fabulous and early bottle, Charles Edward Lucas and brothers were wine, spirit, ale and porter merchants in the 1850s. This would have held porter more than likely. Estimate: $30-50
