Pair of labelled ring seal beers: 1. Ware & Co., Brewers, Adelaide & Melbourne, XXXXX Pale Ale. 2. Ware & Co., Adelaide and Melbourne, Beverley Brewery. (Victoria, South Australia). Beer. Ring Seal. Both are applied top ring seal beers. Green. 26 oz. 1. 304 mm. 2. 303 mm.. 1888-1889
N/A. (N/A). 1. Very Good. Some nibbles to bottom of lip. Scuffs, scratches and a bit of rust. All about the label which is poor, missing about 30-40%. Heavy wear and discolouration. However, enough remains to show this was Ware & Co from Melbourne and Adelaide and contained an All Suited Brand of XXXXX Pale Ale, and that 13 orders of merit had been awarded. Looks like there was a heart on there too. Never seen this label before. 2. Good. 20 x 8 mm chip to lip ring. Dirty. Flake to heel. Some rust, scuffs and scratches. Has a neck label which is missing the left side and a piece out of the right, looks like this was talking about the orders of merit awarded at a Melbourne exhibition. Main label is poor with 30-40% missing. Can see it said Ware and Compas Beverley, and Adelaide and Maelbourne, also that it was warranted to keep fo a number of years ending in 0, so 10 years plus, which sounds odd for a beer? Another label I haven't seen. I didn't know Ware & Co were also in Melbourne, advertising only appears in 1888 and 1889 and shows they were in Richmond. Their Torrenside Brewery was much more well known than this Beverley Brewery. Estimate: $30-50
