A. Hobbs / Kyneton / Registered // Trade Mark / Rd under both neck lugs // Reliance Patent / Sole Maker / Dan Rylands / Barnsley. No base mark. (Victoria) Aerated Water, Codd Applied top. Puce lip! Reliance Patent. Aqua. 10 oz. 218 mm 1880s
Very Good (7.6). Polished. Inner left chamber has a burst bubble. 3 x 1 mm nick below the S of Hobbs. Just a few fisheyes. A few little marks that look like nicks are actually lumps of glass from making. There are some little remains of fisheyes and impact marks. Some little pit marks and scratches around the embossing. Embossing has been quite well protected during the polish, just slightly rounded. You can still see the RD around the neck, this can often be missing on polished reliance patents. Some minor wear to some of the letters. Little patch of nibbled wear below the right neck lug. Tiny nick to front left heel. Great example of this extremely rare bottle! Hobbs registered these bottles as having a pink lip! This is the only puce lip example I have seen, all others have been amber lip! Once in a lifetime opportunity. Estimate: $7500-10000
