Glass Rolling Pin with two silver 1 and 1/2 Pence Queen Victoria coins inside from 1843! (United Kingdom). Early Glass. Rolling Pin. Glass Rolling Pin with two silver 1 and 1/2 Pence Queen Victoria coins inside from 1843! 370 mm long. 1843

Very Good. (7.7). What an amazing item! When made this had two silver 1 1/2 pence pieces inserted from 1843, these coins look to be in great condition, as they have been sealed in this cavity for nearly 180 years!! Some info on the coins, the standard weight of these is 1/44 troy ounce or 10.9 grains. Struck for colonial use in Ceylon, where they were worth 4 stivers (1 fanam) and the West Indies (Jamaica, British Guiana and Trinidad) where it was equivalent to 1/4 real. The rolling pin looks a little hazy which is from making. There are a few patches of deeper scratches in places and some scuffs. An amazing piece, never seen anything like this before! The coins alone in good condition are of some value, there were only 475,000 minted.. Estimate: $300-500
