Uncle Tom / Uncle Tom & Eva. Multi-coloured pictures of scenes from the novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe (first published 1852). Household Prattware Ceramic Meat or fish paste pot. Multicoloured print on white background. Holds around 3 oz. 83 mm. 1850s-1860s
Good. There is a large lip chip measuring 19 x 6 mm and 3 mm deep at its most extreme. A flat, flake type chip under the base that is 17 x 13 mm and just over 1 mm deep at the edge. Both of these chips had amateurish repairs in them that have been removed. There is also a small under base edge chip measuring 6 x 3 mm and 1 mm deep, and another glaze flake at the base. There is a small horseshoe hairline at the base under Eva. Some spots of stained crazing and a couple of surface scuffs and marks. Generally a good looking example of a rare pratt jar that is well worthy of professional restoration. Grade: 6.2 Estimate: $250 - 300
