Signal (in script). Owens Machine rings to base. Household Preserving Jar Screw thread, raised ring between shoulder and lip, smooth/machine finish to top of lip. Pale amethyst. With original lid. Quart. 172 mm. 1920s
Excellent. There is in fact an extremely difficult to find 13 mm long fine fracture next to the seam from the lip on the left side. A very shallow 5 x 1 mm flake to the inner front lip and the top of the lip has a couple of 1 x 1 mm flakes. There is an 8 x 2 mm but very shallow flake off the bead or lower rim at the left front. Typical wear on the base where the jar sits and a few light scuffs and scratches. Otherwise a nice crude Australian jar in an attractive colour. Grade: 8.25 Estimate: $25 - 35
