Newcastle / Ice / Works // Registered / NIW / Trade Mark. Around Base: J. Ross // Bottle Maker. Aerated Water Lamont Ledge-mouth / Bullet stopper type. Applied lip. Blue-grey colour. 10 oz. 232 mm. 1880s
Excellent. Most noticeable thing about this one is the bizarre colour, a kind of pale blue. Current owner bought this in the late 1980s and there is some suggestion that the bottle has been zapped. Not a colour that we have seen in a zapped bottle before but nonetheless we need to let you know the possibility. As it is it certainly looks great and stands out amongst aqua Lamonts. There is a little chip under the base measuring 3 x 7 mm, a small 3 x 2 mm flake to the front base and three or four smallish fisheyes around the lower part of the body of the bottle. There are several tiny fisheyes across the bottle in different areas, including some on the embossing and some light wear to some of the lettering. There is a crude, rough textured appearance to the glass in areas, including internally, and some very light haze in a couple of patches internally. A few small scratches and other marks can be seen. Really unusual looking item. Grade: 8.1 Estimate: $100 - 150
