The Shilling / Aerated Water Factory / Kimberley. No makers marks. Aerated Water Patent Single teardrop (Codd original) closure and torpedo type base. Applied top. Known as a Hybrid to collectors. Aqua. Amber marble. 10 oz. 243 mm. 1890s
Excellent. Polished. Lower part of bottle is less polished with some of the original mould marks to be seen in this area. Seam lines are strong except for the neck area. There is a tiny fracture on the inner front lip near the groove but not through the thickness of the glass and quite likely a manufacturing fault, there is an even smaller one up from this at the top of the lip. At the level of the cross pinch is a small 3 x 2 mm open bubble on the side seam line. Some light surface scratches and minor marks can be seen on the surface, these are heavier towards the base where it is less polished. Some small impact marks and fisheyes scattered around. Nice example of a scarce bottle with the amber marble. Grade: 8 Estimate: $300 - 400
