Pot Lid Cosmetics Blue lid with black print. Round. 72 mm diameter. 1860s
Very Good. The face of this lid is really nice, with some light surface scratches, a couple of spots of surface rust and some minor crazing. The lower flange has three chips which have been poorly repaired. One has the repair mostly popped out, this chip was only 12 x 4 mm and shallow. The next one around is still filled, covering 17 x 3 mm, the third is the smallest at 15 x 2 mm, but the most part of this is very narrow. There are a couple of other nicks in the glaze around this lower flange. The underside has a square section of dried glue on it, most definitely from mounting to a board or similar and by no means a repair of any sort. A most unusual lid in this colour, that looks to be quite early judging by the flat top and style of print. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $125 - 150
