Clark & Sons / Trade (Three masted sailing ship) Mark / Williamstown. Base: KBC Monogram / 4342. Aerated Water Lamont Applied top. Aqua. 10 oz. 236 mm. 1880s-1890s
Very Good. Would grade better than this (and displays better) but has an area of chipping around the lip. This chipping is quite shallow and the main part is to the right hand side over an area of about 20 x 5 mm. There is a chip to the top of the front lip that is 7 x 2 x less than 1 mm and two very shallow flakes to the left side lip that are 4 x 2 and 3 x 2 mm respectively. Under the main chipped area is a very faint 18 mm fracture that doesn't appear to be through the full thickness of the glass but is quite difficult to see. Some minor nibbling at the base of the applied top at the rear as well. An extremely shallow 3 x 3 mm chip can be seen under the back base. Inside has some hazy patches and fine scratches. Outside has the usual light scratches and scuffs. Nice detail on the embossing and a superb looking Lamont on display. Grade: 7.45 Estimate: $200 - 300
