George St. South / J. Isaacs / Sydney / 3. No other stamps. Miscellaneous Stoneware Round, bulbous shaped Tobacco Jar. Applied handles. Tan top, white base. Impressed to shoulder. 3 Pint. 214 mm. 1900s
Very Good. There are around seven little chips around the lip, the largest is a shallow 9 x 7 mm, there is a small horseshoe hairline near this on the lip. Glaze has a general discoloured/dirty appearance. Some crazing throughout. Left handle has shallow chipping along two-thirds of its lower side. Flake to side body which has a lump beside it, so probably from making, it is, 6 x 5 mm. A couple of pottery blowouts from manufacture. Top of the stamp is a bit blurred but the main part is nice and strong. Unusual item. Grade: 7 Estimate: $40 - 60
