Dahlke's / Filter & Pottery Coy. / Melbourne. Ginger Beer Impressed Dump shape. Salt glaze, impressed. 10 oz. 174 mm. 1870s
Very Good. The appeal of this one is how crudely made it is, surprising in fact that it wasn't thrown out when it left the kiln! The back left top has a couple of chips covering in total a 27 x 14 mm area. Some wear around the rest of the lip. Just to the right of the stamp at the base is a 10 x 8 mm chip. A few other small scuffs and scratches can be seen. The bottle is heavily misshapen with dints on both sides showing little pieces of other bottles that have stuck to it in the kiln. Glaze is dark on the front shoulder and top while quite pale elsewhere. Nice strong stamp as well. A great talking piece! Grade: 7.1 Estimate: $30 - 50
