Group lot of 7 clay tobacco pipes, including 2 depicting negro heads. Miscellaneous Tobacco Various N/A. 1880s
The five plain bowl tobacco pipes are complete. Four of these have Glasgow on one side of the stem, the other has 32 on one side of the stem. These are all in good condition, they have chalky residue and some staining in places. The negro head pipe with part stem obviously is missing the other part of the stem. This is an amazing piece, it has some spots of stain and a making split to the rear. The other negro head pipe has no stem at all. It is chipped where the stem would be at the base. This is highly detailed. It has some nibbled flaking around the inner rim and some chips, a large split to the rear behind his ear from the top down and is discoloured. Grade: N/A Estimate: $20 - 30
