Cherry Tooth Paste / for beautifying the teeth / (GL monogram) / and hardening the gums / Gustav Lohse Berlin. Pot Lid Tooth Paste Yellow and black on white lid. Standard domed style lid. 80 mm diameter. 1890s
Very Good. 20 mm manufacturing crack through H of cherry from the edge of the lid, glaze has gone over the edge of this mark. Small glaze flake near edge below S of Gustav. Scuff mark to front edge near 2 o'clock. Outer rim scuff at about 1 o'clock. 7 mm fine horseshoe hairline at about 10 o'clock on the very outer edge. A few shallow and insignificant flakes to the bottom of the flange where it would meet the base. Discoloured crazing underneath, crazing is also evident on the face with lines coming up over the white edge which are slightly discoloured. A few light scratches to the glaze on the face. A most unusual Australian found German lid which looks great. This lid does not come with a base. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $250 - 300
