Sold for A$50

TAP. Base mark: Offset impressed square or diamond shape. Spirits Gin Unusually formed straight sided top, tool finished above seam lines, appears to be an early two piece mould. Green. 13 oz. 225 mm. 1900s

Excellent. An extremely crudely made bottle. The pronounced seam at the top has some chipping from top to the neck, probably from making. On the inner surface behind the P is a cloudy inclusion in the glass that has some fractures from it over 11 mm. The right side panel has an inclusion that has a bruise from it, 7 x 7 mm. A tiny inclusion inside the rear panel as well, only a couple of mm with a very fine fracture from it over a mm or two as well. Near the base at the rear the pronounced seam also has some flaking. Plenty of swirls in the glass, airbubbles everywhere, crude lumps all over as well, this is a magnificent piece of glass all round! Grade: 8.2 Estimate: $40 - 50
