Flat diamond shaped pickle with flat edges, coat of arms to bulbous neck region. No base mark. Goldfields Pickle Applied top, bulbous neck region with English coat of arms over the wide front panels, pinched in then the rest of the bottle is a flat diamond shape with the sharp edges being a flat panel as well. Aqua. Pint. 233 mm. 1850s
Very Good. 4 x 2 mm flake to upper lip, lip edge is scratched around from this. Bottle is stained throughout. Some scuffs and scratches, most of these appear to be surface only. A few small impact marks. Still has some internal dirt in patches. Coat of arms is very well embossed, you can still see the lines going across and up the shield. This is one of the rarest of the goldfields pickles, and our first chance to handle one in person. Should polish beautifully, leaving a bottle which would be amongst the best goldfield pickles in Australia! Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $500 - 600
