Cherry Tooth Paste / Prepared by / (Detailed Coat of Arms) / Dieu et mon droit / Chemists / Simpson & Davenport, Melbourne. Pot Lid Tooth Paste Round lid. Black print on blue. 79 mm diameter. 1890s
Very Good. Small section of faded white, very tight crazing to the lower area of the lid. On the left side there is some unusual blue staining going from the face, to the bottom of the flange over about 40 mm (this actually looks like a spill from the glaze used in the print). The underside of the rim at the top has a small horseshoe fracture, over 7 x 3 mm. 3 x 2 mm extremely shallow flake to the underside of the flange. A few scratches can be found, there is some light wear and crazing visible. A classic pictorial coloured lid from Melbourne. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $2500 - 3000
