No embossing Goldfields pickle with loops from neck ring down to shoulder. Smooth base. Goldfields Pickle Square section. Decoration to neck. Applied top. Aqua. Pint. 224 mm. 1860s
Very Good. Polished. Main surfaces are smooth. Some dullness in the neck and evidence of etching internally. Remains of a scratch or two around the body. Shallow flake to one corner edge half way down. Two impact flakes under the base with small fractures associated, couple of other knock marks under the base as well. Some dullness still around the decoration as well. Surprisingly heavy and thick base for a goldfields bottle. Good looking example, an unusual pickle. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $50 - 70
