Use / Barnes' / Semolina / Food. Base: M / 6. Household Honey Tapered jar. Very crude sheared lip. Clear (hint of amethyst). 12 oz approximately. 133 mm. 1890s-1900s
Good. Typical of these there are a few little bruises and fractures. Surface bruise, 6 x 6 mm at the front above the embossing. 6 x 6 mm star fracture and bruise behind the seam line on the left side. Back near the base has a 4 x 4 mm fisheye, 5 x 3 mm fracture and a shallow 5 x 3 mm chip. Left side lip has a shallow 20 x 14 mm slice coming off it. The whole circumference of the lip has chips and flakes from it but these seem typical of these jars and there incredibly crudely made tops. Dull throughout and has a bit rust stain and some scuffs and scratches. Hard to get these in any better condition and this one will clean up to be OK. Grade: 6 Estimate: $10 - 20
