Early English Tobacco Jar with slab sealed coat of arms. Household Tobacco Two tone, dark brown rim with salt glaze body. Tin lid. Approx 2 pound. 194 mm. 1860s
Excellent. Some glaze wear and tiny glaze flakes to the upper rim where the tin lid would rub when in place. A couple of very small chips at the base edge. Some short discoloured manufacturing splits scattered around, one or two may be hairlines. Shallow flake to inner edge of applied banner with short hairline. A great, early piece of stoneware.
