Yoxall Bros / Moonee / Trade (Arm Holding Sword) Mark / Valley Co / Melbourne // A. B. W. No base mark. Aerated Water Codd Applied top. Four way pour, Dobson style patent with four dimples. Aqua. 26 oz. 275 mm. 1890s
Good. Polished. Left chamber has a little discoloured impact mark, 3 x 3 mm. Behind this it expands out to a bruise over about 18 x 18 mm (it is hard to tell as the edges are undefined). Hazy internally. Has possibly had some very minor reshaping done to the lip. Small impact mark to upper lip. Deep 12 x 4 mm pitted scratch to front base. Scuffs and scratches scattered around with some fisheyes and pits as well. This beast is full of airbubbles, it is a magical bottle, one of very few big Moonee Valley bottles to have ever come on the open market! The ABW makers is a bit of a mystery, some would say Adelaide Bottle Works, but I believe it to be a local Melbourne glass maker. Grade: 6.8 Estimate: $2000 - 2500
