Dutch or English Onion. Base Mark: Pontil. Black Glass Onion Applied string rim on sheer lip. Mid Olive Green. Quart. 195 mm. 1700s
Excellent. Some stretch marks to inner lip. Nibbled section to outer upper lip, this is a series of small, shallow fleabites. Some haze internally. Some scuffs and scratches externally including a couple of small deeper scuffed patches. Under the base there are some usage scratches, but not too many. Broken pontil is rather jagged in places. This is quite light in colour compared to normal, light clearly travels through the bottle on all angles. A lovely piece of glass making history. Grade: 8 Estimate: $250 - 350
