Very Good. The jug itself is in great shape with just some discolouration and minor marks. Now, at some point someone has tried to scrub out the impressed mark on the shoulder. Some of the letters are still deeply impressed, mainly at the ends of the words. In later times someone has put a lacquer over the affected area (we have peeled a small section of this back just to check that it is original underneath - and it is). At the same time it looks like they have highlighted the original impression. Nice example of a rare demijohn with obviously some interesting history! Grade: 7.1 Estimate: $150 - 200
