Goldfields Cricket Belt Buckle: The Pride of Our National Sports, with large cricket ball to centre, wickets on either side, bats, glove hat and balls around the cricket ball. Each of the four corners has a rose, thistle, leek and shamrock, which would represent England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland respectively. Goldfields Buckle Brass belt buckle with ornate pressed design, remnants of gold plating. Cricket ball is a separate insert type attachment. 64 x 52 mm. 1860s
Very Good. Has only been rinsed in water. The cricket ball in the centre has no lugs through to the rear, so it is possible that this may have been glued in place to prevent it falling off, but is the original piece. Some minor bends and nicks around the outer edge, the belt clip on the underside is no longer there. A superb and patriotic belt buckle, these items are wonderful pieces of history. Grade: 7.7 Estimate: $75 - 100
