On applied seal: M. P. Pollen & Zoon / (Seahorse) / Rotterdam. Spirits Gin Applied flare lip. Dark Olive. 10 oz. 200 mm. 1860s
Excellent. The lower part of the seal has not struck correctly due to the odd oval shape of the seal. There is a little making split on the outer surface of the rear lip. Some scratches appear shiny and rounded as if they have been polished, these may be mould marks, as there are some other scuffs and scratches that appear to have not been through a polishing process. Looks to be some very minor surface etching down near the base, this is on the surface only and is very hard to see. Some swirled imperfections within the glass stretching right around the bottle. Quite a crude bottle, a lovely little example of this pictorial sealed gin. Grade: 8.2 Estimate: $250 - 300
