Hexagonal handled flared lip piece of Roman glass. Base Mark: Pontil. (These seem to turn up regularly in Australia, some have even been dug. It appears they are replicas made around the early 1900s - may be souvenirs brought back from World War 1 by Australian Soldiers?) Miscellaneous Glass Roman glass, handled, hexagonal piece. Ice Blue. 10 oz. 222 mm. 1900s?
Very Good. There is no certificate of authenticity to verify that this is a true piece of Roman glass. Most likely a replica from recent times? There is on odd stain around the bottle, but this is on the surface, it has not eaten into the glass which you would expect from an antiquity. A few open surface bubble type things. No scratches or impact marks. Nice Ice blue colour. Interesting piece of glass probably from late 1800s to early 1900s. (Although basically the same is slightly different to the previous lot). Grade: 7.9 Estimate: $30 - 40
