J. Sherwin. Pottery Australian Early Australia pottery bung jar with rolled lip. Mustard coloured throughout. 1 Pound. 162 mm. 1850s
Excellent. 3 x 3 mm pottery blowout to lower lip at the rear. Couple of little nibbled glaze flakes to upper lip. Some wear and minor glaze flakes to shoulder bands. A few glaze flakes to body and spots of wear to pottery bumps to the body. 8 x 6 mm base edge flake to left of potters stamp. Some minor wear to base edge where it would sit on the table. A few little pops to the pottery. A great example of this early piece of pottery from Tasmania, this may even be 1840s. This is unusual in that it is all one colour without the red top that is more often seen on these. Grade: 8 Estimate: $600 - 800
