The Cream Of / Highland Whiskies / "My Queen" / (Queen Victoria) / Jubilee Blend // None genuine unless capsuled / with Betts' Patent Capsule / (Coat of Arms) / Jubilee / 1837-1887 / Thom & Cameron Limited / Glasgow. Potters stamp: Port Dundas / Glasgow / Pottery Coy. Spirits Whisky/Whiskey All white with deep sepia print. 1 quart. 203 mm. 1880s
Good. Couple of spots of glaze wear and tiny flakes to lip. Lower neck where it attaches to the body has a fine discoloured crack from where it meets he handle to the rear on the left right around to the right where it meets the handle and across the shoulder about 30 mm from there. There is a hairline across the lower handle about half way as well. Crude roughness to the right shoulder from making. A few other making marks. There are some glaze scratches, and a fair bit of dirt and grime which will clean off. Apart from the hairlines to the neck, this is a decent example of an ornate jug celebrating Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1887. Grade: 6.2 Estimate: $50 - 75
