Large Shop Jar: McLinctock's / Soap. No base mark. (Victoria) Household Jar Applied top. Ground inner neck for original stopper which is in place. Clear. Red, green, black and white painted label. 1/2 Gallon. 282 mm. 1900s
Good. Shallow 15 mm flake type chip to the underside of the front applied lip. Star fracture under the base. Some minor scuffs and scratches to the body, one or two little impact marks as well. The all important painted design is poor, McLintock's is fully readable but has flaking to the paint and scratches through it. Soap is a little worse with a section in the middle flaked off. The ornate original stopper is a great piece in its own right. Noting wrong with this condition wise. A superb and rare item, from a company that had a wide range of bottles and jars. Grade: 6.7 Estimate: $75 - 100
