Small Size Medallion Pinch Waisted Salad Oil. Base Mark: Pontil. Goldfields Salad Oil Applied top. Ring in neck. Bulbous eight sided lobed section to neck. Pinched in at bottom of this before five panelled section flaring out with medallions in lower poriotn of each. Label space at rear. Wide ball type pontil under base. 175 mm. 1850s
Very Good. Polished. Remains of etching internally. Couple of little nicks to lip with a few fine making splits. Some fine pitted marks and scratches remaining externally. On the label space you can see remains of three medallions where they seem to have been removed from the mould. Some wear to base edge with one or two tiny impact marks. Good example of this rare salad oil in a nice small size. Grade: 7 Estimate: $500 - 750
