V-Galeni. No makers marks. Medicine Chemist Flow blue type monochrome Delft drug jar. 189 mm. 1700s
Restored. Whilst there is overpainting right around the flared lip rim both in and outside, it appears repairs here have been chips only of varying sizes. The flared out base for all intents and purposes appears to be fully restored. The underside of the entire base appears to be filler as well, although the inner base is all original, so unsure of the extent of the base repairs, but it is pretty major. Impact to one side has a couple of hairlines from it. Couple of other hairlines and cracks from the upper part going down up to half way. Hairline around lower body. Possibly from eastern France from around the late 18th century, this is a very early drug jar. Has some issues, but is a great piece of history. Grade: N/A Estimate: $$200.00 - $250.00
