Torbock's / Inhaler. // Torbock's / Inhaler. No makers mark. Medicine Inhaler All white, sepia print. 210 mm. 1850s
Very Good. A few tiny nicks and so forth around the lip edge. Lions heads on either side have some dirt around them and a couple of fine scratches. Crazing throughout, couple of discoloured lines coming from Lion's head on one side. Towards one side, the pedestal base has three hairlines heading towards the same point, they become crazing and don't really join. Some scratches to the glaze which are minor. Possibly the finest inhaler we have seen. The upper piece is designed to suit ones mouth. The lion head on either side is formed such that the mouth of each lion is actually a hole, allowing for the necessary air flow. Below Torbock's on each side is an ornate flower design. On one side there is a Peacock or Pheasant amongst some flowers and the other side has a butterfly amongst some flowers. An early piece too, this is superb. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $$300.00 - $400.00
