Excellent. The vendor tells us this has never been buried, it has been in the same family since new. Looking at the lid and matching base, they are in quite good condition, so this is certainly feasible. Good strong colour to this one, there is one scratch which is short and thin, this is through the pink glaze, and there is another tiny nick through the pink on the N of Manufactured. Just a few fine scratches to the face, which is better than usual for one of these so it certainly does not look to have been buried. There is a shallow 10 x 4 mm flake to the inner flange, which would have been from when it was being closed against the base. Pretty much no marks otherwise. The perfectly fitting base is obviously the original and is in great shape. Maybe some fine discolouration in places, which could well have been from contents. I doubt you will see to many better than this one as the pink is often prone to fading upon burial. Grade: 8.2 Estimate: $$1,000.00 - $1,250.00
