LM&C on applied seal. Base mark: Star. Label: Superior old / Centaur Gin / (Crown) / (Lion) / (Centaur) / L. M. & Co / New-York. Spirits Gin Applied top. Green. 26 oz. 244 mm. 1860s
Near Mint. Large bubble on inner surface looks a little milky, this is very hard to see as it is inside. A few scratches. Full of airbubbles, some are at the surface. Lovely whittling to the surface. Label is discoloured with a bit of fading. Lettering is not distinctly printed either, looks like a poor quality copy but that is possibly the way it was made at the time? Regardless, the bottle is a lovely piece which is quite rare. The Centaur trade mark is registered to Blankenhym and Nolet, so I imagine LMC imported this into America from them. Grade: 9.4 Estimate: $$300.00 - $400.00
