Wide globe with skinny neck. Round pontil scar to base. Black Glass Wine Globe shaped body. Thin neck. Applied double collar top. Pontil scar. Black/Dark Olive. Pint. 200 mm. 1840s-1850s
Very Good. Nice smaller size. Like the Alloa glassworks type bottles that often have stippled patterns on them. This one is plain though. Contents stain or grime inside. General scratches and scuffs over the surface. Quite a bit of wear to the base showing it was used for a while. Really nice piece of black glass. (From the Ian Mastin collection whose exceptional still life artwork includes many of these pieces - http://www.ianmastin.com/) Grade: 7.9 Estimate: $70 - 100
