Bond Bros / General Merchants / Piangil. Back Base edge: Bendigo Pottery / Epsom. (Victoria) Demijohn Impressed Handled Demijohn. Wide flat lip. Tan top. Impressed to shoulder. One Gallon. 304 mm. 1920s
Good. Handle has been replaced with well disguised joins at the top and base of handle - a good job. Lip is near perfect. Small glaze flake to right shoulder. Couple of flakes to base edge are possibly pottery pulls. Down the left side is a bit of white paint that has been used to disguise a crack, this is well blended in. Looks like the crack went for around 150 mm stopping just before the tan neck. Some scratches and minor marks. A great looking demijohn from a small country Victorian town. We have the small size also in this auction! Grade: 6 Estimate: $100 - 150
