There are five items here, to Maud Walsh from a soldier (Claude. H. Roberts) that was serving in the Solomon Islands during World War II. On the left is a colourful plastic item with To Maud in red, this has no clasp or pin. Next is an irregular diamond shaped plastic item with Solomon Is and a tree, in decent condition. Next is a two part item, one shaped like a heart with silver looking inlaid heart, To M from H or J? There is a small plastic item that simply says Solomons and lastly is the nicest piece, a heart shaped plastic items with the rising sun Australian Commonwealth Military Forces and Maud. The letters are stained, discoloured and a tad fragile. Both have been passed by a sensor during the War years. Claude died on 30th August 1942 fighting Japanese at the Battle of Isurava. He was posted with the 2/14 Australian Infantry Batallion. Very interesting set of war memorabilia form a sad time in our history. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 75
