Abraham Joseph. Base Mark: (KBT monogram). Household Chutney Applied top. Aqua. 26 oz. 279 mm. 1880s
Very Good. Stained throughout, slightly opalescent in places. Some dirt and grime internally. Nibbled impact flake to base edge with another small one beside this as well. Fisheye towards base. Scratches scattered around. Thought to be Australian, I have been told Melbourne and Sydney by different people. The only Abraham Joseph I can find was a furniture merchant who became insolvent in 1888 in Sydney. Could this be who this bottle belongs to - not a food bottle but maybe a polish bottle? In reality, this could be from anywhere and have contained anything. Not one you see very often at all though. Grade: 7.3 Estimate: $30 - 40
