Near Mint. Quite a stunning piece, one of four from the same chemist in this auction. An early piece of milk glass, the paper label is discoloured with a few tears. The original cork still has its cloth around it and fits nicely. The lip edge has some nicks from making, the gold leaf design is amongst these, so definitely from making. There are a few scratches to the painted design around the shoulder edge. These are not deep. A few other scratches and minor marks. Historically important chemist item sourced from the chemist shop of Holden & Mellowship, Hindmarsh. Empolastrum was a medicinal preparation in the form of a sticky paste or salve, usually applied to the skin on a piece of linen or leather (plaster). Grade: 9.2 Estimate: $200 - 300
