Fair. Oily grime throughout. Stained internally. Tiny flakes to upper right lip. Two small bruise to left upper body and shoulder. 12 mm fracture half way down this left side with a surface bruise over it, bruise next to this at edge as well. Bruise at base of this panel too. To the rear panel now, there is a small flake to upper body, a larger bruise to mid body, a smaller bruise lower down, another bruise to the edge of this panel and one near the base as well. The right side has a small flake and two very small bruises. The front has a bruise to the upper half. Under the base is a small bruise over only about 50 x 25 mm. An early example, this has an issue or two, so why are we bothering selling it through the auction? Provenance! This is from the James A. Lerk collection, this is the exact bottle pictured by James in "Bottles in Australian Collections" on page 57, bottle number 5. Grade: 4.4 Estimate: $1 - 6
