Pair of Bricks: 1. Toyer B's Brick. 2. W. M convict brick. Pottery Brick Brick 230 & 224 mm long. 1880s & 19th Century
1. George Toyer had a brickyard in Marrickville in the 1880s. Some of the typical splits and blowouts from making on this one. Some flakes to the edges and chips. 2. Looks to be more of a sandstone type of brick. Described by the vendor as a convict brick, I don't know enough to be able to say it is for sure. Typical splits and blowouts from making, one blowout looks like a hole. Deep impressed letters have slightly poorly defined edges. Some flakes to the edges and chips. Not sure on age, somewhere in the 1800s at a guess. Grade: N/A Estimate: $30 - 40
