Abbott & Son / Five Dock / 10. (New South Wales) Pottery Chimney Pot Teracotta Chimney Pot 305 mm. 1910s
Very Good. The Wimmera Pottery of Abbott & Son was in Five Dock in the 1910s. They were advertising butter coolers and their patented intense irrigator at this time. I have called this a chimney pot as it likely is, but the intense irrigator was basically a bottomless pot for pot plants that directed the water to the roots and also allowed the roots to expand without becoming pot bound, is this maybe an intense irrigator? Not convinced on that, I think it is likely a chimney pot. The terracotta is flaking in places. It is generally quite solid though. Grade: 7 Estimate: $50 - 75
