Trade (Kangaroo) Mark. No base mark. Household Jar Lightning type closure. Ground lip. Aqua. Half Gallon. 265 mm to top of lid.. 1900s
Good. Some minor flakes and nibbles around the ground lip, probably less than usual for this ground style of lip. The left inner lip on the curve of the lid seat has a slice type chip that has an angled fracture running along this curve over about 40 mm, the end of this just curves down to the side of the lip. 21 x 8 mm deep burst bubble to front right base edge, there are a couple of flaked bits to the side of this as well. Dull scratched wear around this mark appear to be the remains of where someone has somehow decided that they would attempt to grind this out, thankfully they stopped before going to deep, but have left an area of deep scratching. Some fine usage wear under the base and one or two nicks. Patch of stain behind kangaroo is on the surface and will wash off. Some grime amongst the kangaroo will wash off. Some scratches and minor marks. The wire is rusty. The lid is in decent enough condition. A rare jar, on the most part this is a good, shiny condition, just has a couple of issues, the bubble can be filled and tidied up to amend that and the lip damage is very difficult to see on the shelf anyway. Grade: 6.6 Estimate: $300 - 400
