Dixon Bros / Brim. Potters Stamp: "Bendigo Pottery". (Victoria) Demijohn Impressed Two tone, tan top, off white body. Impressed. 1 Gallon. 297 mm. 1920s
Good. We have sold one of these before, but it had the impressed Bendigo Pottery stamp as opposed to this one with the ink stamp. This handle has broken off of this example. There are three relatively small and shallow flakes around the lip and a small nick as well. Some nibbles to right shoulder around a making lump may well be from making. Deep 10 x 7 mm potters blowout to front body off to the right slightly. Left upper body has a rough section that looks like odd glaze pooling with some impurities amongst it. Couple of flakes to base heel are likely potters pulls. Some spots of wear. Scattered scratches to the glaze. A bit of minor discolouration. Nice dark glaze within the impression makes this stand out, this is a good example overall. Grade: 6 Estimate: $100 - 150
