1. Good. Lid is embossed, rusty. Label has some writing on it, stained with a few holes and a tear or two. Great piece, the owner has written spices, Jan 1942 on the label, so this tin is likely from the 1930s. 2. Very Good. Has a jigsaw puzzle inside, I have not put it together so do not know if there are any pieces missing! Lid is corroded with dark discolouration. Some discoloured spots to the body and surface corrosion. A few dints and minor marks. Some scratches, a few paint flakes. Some dints to be found. Fabulous pictures, this detailed tin is a very nice looking item. 3. Good. Lid is rusty. Some other corrosion. Sticker over front. Discolouration. Some dints, scratches and grime. Interesting early item linked to Swinburne College in Hawthorn. 4 & 5. Both Good. A lot of grime, corrosion. One tin has a crazed effect. This has a sticker as well saying whole ginger over the top. The other has some scratches but is better. A few flakes and marks. Scratches and discolouration with some grime. 6. Fair. This does not say John Connell, but has their monogram and they advertised this product. The top and bottom are quite corroded. Corrosion to the body. The colours are faded and discoloured, some print is very hard to read. Plenty of grime and cobwebs. Very interesting tin, will clean up a little. This has tea written on it. It has some contents as well, I haven't opened it to check what. 7. Very Good. Lid comes off to a solid inner surface with some crud on inner base. Rusty lid. A little corrosion to the body. Some scratches through the paint and some wear. Some discoloured spots. A lovely little tin which is reasonably early. 8. Good. Original patented lid is in place. Plenty of grime. This has some liquid inside, which can't be the original contents. Dark stain from the contents seeping around the tin. Corrosion and other discolouration. Some sticky grime as well. 9. Good. A cheese tin! Yum? This has buttons inside, and a few other odds and ends, even an acorn! Corrosion throughout, discolouration and fading to the print. Minor dint or two under base, where there is a bit more rust. An interesting tin from this Bendigo company. Grade: N/A Estimate: $70 - 100
