Six smaller pieces of Pates Pottery: 1. Green and Brown Ash Tray. 2. Green and Purple Tulip Vase with lower handles. 3. Pink Tulip Vase with Gold Leaf Decorations. 4. Tulip Shape Vase with in Brown and Yellow. 5. Vase with Ear type handles in Yellow and Brown. 6. Yellow and Brown Vase with offset ear type handles with a Pates sticker. All have Potters stamp: Pates / Potteries / Sydney / Australia. Some with Regent on sticker. (New South Wales) Pottery Pates Various 86 - 111 mm. 1940s
1. Very Good. Flake chip to inner rim. A couple of small flakes to rim. Some crazing. A bit of grime. Interesting piece, you don't see a lot of Pates ash trays. (7.5). 2. Near Mint. Some grime scattered around. Scuff mark or two and some fine scratches. (9.4). 3. Near Mint. A bit of an unusual piece of Pates with the gold leaf decorations. Tiny glaze nick to rim. A little very fine wear to the gold leaf on the rim. Crazing throughout. Some dust and grime. A lovely piece. (9.0). 4. Very Good. Flake to inner rim is glazed over, this is a making mark. There is, however, a hairline down from this over about 40 mm. A bit of crazing and some minor marks. (7.5). 5. Very Good. 9 x 7 mm flake to lip. There are a couple more flakes to lip edge. Crazing throughout. A few spots of grime. Couple of dark spots of crud underneath. Some scratches. (7.5). 6. Very Good. Small flake to rim next to handle. Flake to rear rim as well. Some grime. Sticker has some wear and a small tear. Crazing throughout. (7.7). Grade: N/A Estimate: $80 - 120
