Three early Sodas: 1. Webb's // London. No base mark. 2. Ross's // Belfast. No Base Mark. 3. Dr Struves // Mineral Waters. No base mark. Aerated Water Various 1. & 2. Applied top. Dump shape. Amber. 13 oz. 3. Applied rolled lip. Green. 13 oz. 240, 167 & 140 mm. 1860s-1880s
1. Very Good. Lacquered. Some inner stain. Burst bubble to N of London, this is quite small, another burst bubble off to the side is also reasonably small. A bit of grime. Some scratches and minor marks to be found. We sold two colours of these in Auction 31, this is a vastly different colour again in this deep red amber, so there are at least three colour variations out there. 2. Very Good. Lacquered. Possibly polished as well. Scuffs and scratches, a few are a bit pitted. Embossing is a bit flat in places, this may have been flat to start with in this instance. Some stain still evident. Remains of some fisheyes. Interesting bottle in this fat, short round end style. Quite an early piece too. 3. Good. Impact to upper lip has an associated inner lip bruise. Another tiny nick to upper lip. Stained throughout, this has a slightly etched feel. A few pitted marks. Pitted scratch to shoulder edge. Some other scratches and scuffs. A few impacts and fisheyes. A nice, early bottle. Grade: N/A Estimate: $70 - 100
