Pair of Terracotta Chinese Opium Pipe Bowls. Scalloped & Round. Both with Chinese characters in the shoulder. Chinese Ceramic Terracotta Opium Bowls. Scalloped & Round. 80-82 mm diameter. Mid 1800s
Scalloped one is Very Good. Base has three chips around it (15 x 7, 12 x 3 and 6 x 4 mm). On one edge is a chipped area, largest is 15 x 8 mm but with a handful of smaller marks around it. Some flakes to the lip. Light burn stain and the like. The round one is Fair. Displays very well but the middle of the base has been carefully chipped out to create a larger hole. This would appear to have been done at the time of use. Otherwise some small chips around the lip. A little bit of stain and wear. Couple of great pieces of Australian found Chinese pottery.
