Thistle design: 40 McDougall // Glasgow. 3. plain bowl and original stem. 4. Near complete clay tobacco pipe with plain bowl: The Gladstone // The Gladstone. Tobacciana Pipe Various 115 - 153 mm. 1860s-1890s
1. Excellent. Inner stem end has a little flake, which is likely a making mark. Pretty much just making marks otherwise. 2. Excellent. Some scratches to the bowl. Some minor nicks to the rim of the bowl. 3. Good. Quite stained throughout. Flake to inner rim edge. Heavy dirt or crud inside bowl. Split underneath. Not sure the bowl is clay on this one, it may actually be wood? I have just noticed the stem of the bowl says in fine writing Fairway / London // London England / 124. 4. Good. The very end of the stem is broken off, this is nearly complete. Some stain. A few little rim flakes. Some scratches. Grade: N/A Estimate: $50 - 70
