W. Rockliff / (WR monogram) / Burnie. Potters stamp: The Bendigo Pottery / Epsom / Bendigo. (Tasmania) Ginger Beer Cork Stoppered Two tone, tan top, off white body. Black print. 13 oz. 170 mm. 1910s
Very Good. Still has the cork in place in the oversized blob top. Tiny glaze flake to upper lip. Small glaze flake to rear shoulder has a little blow out in it, this is likely a making mark. A couple of other little nicks and spots of wear to the shoulder. Front outer blob has a surface flake not even through the glaze. Base flake below potters stamp has been filled and coloured over, this did not come up the bottle much, does come to the left of the bottle a bit but overall looks like it was minor base flaking in the first place. Couple of discoloured spots. Crudely made bottle with some nice neck marks, some other lumps and bumps. Small potters pull under the base. Some minor scratches and marks. Quite a rare one, we have three different Rockliff ginger beers in this auction. Grade: 7.4 Estimate: $200 - 300
